So I had a dream where there were these little… astral thoughtform creatures called Fulgorgeos which were basically little balls of extremely psychomagnetic magma. They were causing serious problems because they would fly everywhere on the astral plane and splat on a person's astral avatar.If one of them glommed onto your mind like this, they'd act like an incomplete headmate. Individual Fulgorgeos were only semisentient and didn't really have enough processing power to approximate a human personality and thus you could pretty easily tell when they were fronting.
The real problem was that a Fulgorgeo attached to an astral avatar would become EXTREMELY psychomagnetic, causing other free-floating Fulgorgeos to glom onto it. This would add processing power to the invasive headmate, but personality traits would be averaged between all Fulgorgeos in the cluster. A person with a serious Fulgorgeo infestation would become extremely disruptive when their invasive headmate was fronting because they were torn between the desires of multiple Fulgorgeos at once.
Also the astral plane was something that everyone just accepted as a fact of life???
Also because capitalism is a hellscape there were multiple major corporations who offered Fulgorgeo removal services and they had… collectively arranged themselves on the astral plane into the astral symbol for "price fixing cartel?"
