#beginner shadow work

To start myself off light I drew a little shadow work spread for myself using this spread by @selftarot​

1) Past Experience that Defines Me: 3 of Wands

The card of exploration and foresight. There are a number of moments in my life that fit this card, not all positive -- actually very few positive, but that’s just,,, how I am. I pulled another for clarification and drew The Hermit, which is interesting as it is my calling card. However, I think I know what this means now.

In my teenhood I didn’t go to school, became a recluse, and had to learn most things by myself. I essentially raised and tutored myself in a lot of ways and yes, it defines me. It affects me deeply in so many ways both positive and negative.

2) Aspect Needing Reevaluation: Wheel of Fortune

Fate and personal vision. I definitely struggle to accept well... anything that is thrown my way. Any change, any slight difference, and it will throw me completely off. I need to learn to step back from the sordid details and look at the bigger picture. I need to accept that I cannot control anything, and that not all is set in stone.

3) How I Can Transcend Old Ways: 7 of Pentacles, Reversed

Long term view, assessment and contemplation. I believe this card ties in with the Wheel of Fortune -- it’s telling me to step back, look over my life and assess the failures and successes with a neutral eye for once. To recognise the truth and the bigger picture. Reversed indicates that this will be an uphill battle as I feared, but it also suggests I need to be patient and optimistic; that it will pay off in time.

4) Revelation Awaiting Me: Father of Pentacles

The card of wealth, success, abundance and joy. Strength and success await me, I guess. These are always tough ones for me to read to I pulled to clarify and drew the Two of Cups which is about unity and forming connections so I guess the success will be in community and my relationships? Yeah, probably that. I’m getting there.
