hes childhood friends/rivals/fellow students with gray!! they trained together and learned ice magic from the same wizard :]
because of this they both have the habit of. taking off their clothes at random please do not ask ok
SPEAKIGN of that habit ok. so the world they live on is called earthland but theres another world called edolas - its basically like an alternate dimension and everyone has a counterpart of themselves in edolas
lyon's and gray's counterparts both wear an obscene amount of clothing lol, and gray's counterpart is very meek compared to his Cool Guy personality. not everyones counterpart is their direct opposite but most have some opposite traits
ok anyway the specific magic gray and lyon use is called molding magic, where they mold things out of specific elements. its very imaginative and you can make pretty much whatever you want
other wizards who use molding magic are rufus (memory make), laki (wood make), and juvia (water make). and ofc gray and lyon's teacher, and her daughter as well, who also uses ice make magic
gray's is static, so he creates objects, weapons, and manipulates his environment, while lyon's is dynamic, typically creating animated ice sculptures, but he can do some static objects as well
