HYPESQUAD HOUSE GIRLS for discord’s first hack week!!!!!!!! i worked with four other lovely people on this project!

i did the initial sketches, pho.jpeg lined it, stellazium colored, i cleaned it up, and _akdaz and wickedteatrickster worked on the formatting! we all did concept art! we didn’t win, but we had so much fun during this!

if you hear the sea whisper spells in your ear,

do not fall for her — she’s only satisfied when you lay still among her waves.

if you hear her weeping in between the breaks in the sand,

it is not her, but those she has captured — take your legs out of the water.

if she engulfs you in her dreary fog, do not wade further in — 

despite her sadness, mist cannot move mountains. 

you mustn’t fall in love with the sea. 

she dislikes the way you taste,

she wants to change it quickly,

to engulf you in salt,

until your tongue and throat and heart

are numb with her only. 

she’ll come up to you in sorrow,

she’ll kiss your feet and come again,

again,

again on the tide, the rhythm of the foam aligned to your heartbeat, 

but listen closely, she’s slightly offbeat; 

take note and find your way home.

it’s easy to hide the crimson red in blue,

and faded, grey skin in lightless depths,

and the fish won’t know either

because they breathe blood and water the same.

even the candy can’t compete with you!

how can you cry in the face of a bitter world?

just the sugar-coated glaze in your eyes is enough

to make my sweet tooth ache. 

 your sugar is vulnerable, but nothing can match
