Out of all the verses, PsyOps Sona is perhaps the most haunted and troubled of all the Sonaās, followed up by Odyssey Sona. PsyOps has been tortured, experimented on, and left to ruin without hope in sight. Whatever mirthful innocence existed in her was swiftly dissolved after countless operations. Whatās more, PsyOps as literally seen into the weave of the multiverse. She has seen other versions of herself, in other lives, living and dying. One does not stare into the void and not go a little mad. She isnāt off her rocker, no, but that knowledge? It changes you. Itās not even the stereotypical edgelordĀ āIāve seen some shitā thing, but she is genuinely troubled; mental slips, lapses of judgement, bouts of anger. Letās not even forget that she has powers beyond her comprehension. She was a talented psychic prior to her capture, but after her release from the BRG facility? She has become a near psychic god, meant to be the perfect human bioweapon. Sadly, she is not always in control of her abilities and cannot guarantee the safety of those around her.
Continuing on from that, Sona in Odyssey was the second most haunted (and powerful) Sona in my eyes. She is a rare existence of being Ora incarnate, able to communicate and use Ora (the essence of all life and energy in her universe) as a tool. This is EXTREMELY rare and seldom seen, though in particular it is COMPLETELY unheard of that she can speak with Ora. Even Rhaast, the interdimensional space scythe hellbent on culling that realm, laughs at the notion of Ora beingĀ āsentientā and having a voice per his voicelines with the Odyssey Kayn skin. This goes to show how special Sona is in this verse (AND HOW SHE DESERVED TO GET SPECIAL VOICE LINES DAMMIT). She was granted visions of the end, of the scythe, of the Ora Gate. She endures such horrific things, both in the waking world and dreaming. Be it a future she feels helpless in changing, or the things she must experience due to a certain Ordinal making her life hell. This Sona is perhaps the most hopeful and innocent, but it sets her up for heartbreak, manipulation, and emotional devastation. After all, sheās set to die for a universe that never knew her nor ever cared for her; born not to live, but born to die so others may carry on.
This might sound a bit obvious, but music is present in Sonaās life in EVERY verse. Whether she is actively pursuing a career as a maven, if itās a hobby, or if her abilities coincide with music--itās ALWAYS a staple in her life. In certain verses, it might not seem as obvious, but truth me ITāS THERE. For example, in my main Odyssey thread with @ofshadowreaping, Sona has such a high affinity for music. At her home, she has a pretty nice zither that she operates with the Ora, both orchestrating wonderful symphonies together. Oftentimes sheāll use this as a means to calm her nerves after waking from a horrific vision. Yet, in that thread, she hasnāt had that instrument (BECAUSE A STINKY ORDINAL KIDNAPPED HER) and Iām honestly waiting for her to get angsty over it soon LOL but even in that thread/verse, she still LOVES music and itās very important to her. Itās also interesting to note that in verses withĀ āabilitiesā the powers are not always generated from the instrument. For example, in Odyssey, itās the Ora itself which lends itself to Sona (as well as her using her own personal supply of Ora), rather than in mainverse the etwahl is a possessed artifact of unknown origins that has personality.
