This layered beef pasta dish is a tasty and comforting meal that can be served any time. It's sure to please everyone in the family with its soft ground beef, tasty marinara sauce, and melty cheese.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 onion, chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes. 1 jar 24 oz marinara sauce. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1 teaspoon dried basil. Salt and pepper to taste. 12 oz penne pasta, cooked al dente. 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 190C 375F. Warm up the ground beef in a big pan over medium-low heat until it turns brown. Put chopped onion and minced garlic in the pan and cook until the onion gets soft. Marinara sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper should all be mixed in now. Let it cook for 10 minutes. Spread cooked penne pasta out in a baking dish that has been greased. Half of the meat sauce mix should be put on top of the pasta. Mix together half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and sprinkle them over the sauce. Add more layers with the rest of the cheeses, sauce, and pasta. Put foil over the dish and bake for 25 minutes. Take off the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. If you want, add fresh basil leaves as a garnish before serving.
