YES it needed to be said, but I am immensely happy to find out I'm not the only one thinking it.

Also needing to be vanquished: Loki's “ruby” Jötunn eyes (anyway they may not have rubies either on Jötunheim or on Asgard), and that horrible habit most fanfiction writers have to use “orb” as a synonym for eye.

Pinterest.  I blame Pinterest.  Innocently and happily pinning ideas for redecorating various rooms, and this face keeps popping up.  Loki.  Loki.  Long dark hair, pale face.     Sigh.  He is the most dang subtle thing in the universe.  He just…insinuates…himself into your psyche.  He weaves tendrils of “oh, that’s interesting,” and “hm, he’s okay looking” around the astrocytes that make up the blood-brain barrier….adding another and another until it’s “OMG HE MOVED HIS HAND” and “OMG HE’S BEAUTIFUL LIKE THE SUN AND I BURN IN HIS PRESENCE.”

It’s a disease process that is unrelenting and degenerative.  There is no cure. There is no treatment. 

We are lost.
