The key, in reaching readers (if that is really the issue, though I think we also have a gate-keeping problem), is not to say that we 'should' read works in translation because it is 'good for you' — that is akin to saying 'eat your kale.' We need to change that part of the conversation. We need to talk about what we’re devouring.
