... Eddie got stuck in a time loop on the day of the Grocery store fight™
It always ends with Buck being seriously hurt in some way, and Eddie is always late to stop it from happening. And the times that he’s on time and intervenes it ends with Buck dying.
Eddie tries to figure out what went wrong that day (every-fucking-thing) and find the way to keep Buck safe, while grappling with his anger issues and growing feelings for his best friend, both of which he continues to deny.
The interesting thing is that every time they butt heads, the fight inevitably happen one way or another, Buck experiences a vague sense of déjà vu but he has no idea why. Not to mention strange nightmares Buck wakes up from every morning. Not that he didn’t have them before but these ones feel different somehow.
Fun fact: time loops can happen because of the soulmate magic. When the time is right magic creates a situation (in this case it is a time loop) in which you have a chance to make or break the bond with your soulmate.
