#Jesus Scripture is one of God’s greatest gifts to us! It is an instruction manual, a lamp to guide our direction in the darkness of this world, & an incredible source of encouragement & strength. The scriptures give us the Good News as well as instructions on how to treat each other & handle different situations. They remind us of who we are in God & Who God is to us. When I read those promises, I can confidently say to myself, “That’s right! God said X! So I will believe Him & hold Him to His Word! If He said X, then He will do X!” Scripture has helped me to control myself when I got distracted in my head. Scripture also helps me to stay humble. It has given me many verses to repeat to keep my attention on Christ not my circumstances. Not only is scripture essential for us Christians to have in order to follow God, it’s essential in communing with each other. Scripture teaches us how to treat others, especially other Christians. By following them & applying these verses to our lives, we are able to connect to each other because we believe in the same thing & adhering to it brings us closer together! We then can fellowship & have unity in one another like Jesus would want us to (Rom 15:5). It’s like a cycle: Scripture builds us up in community & community builds us up in scripture. What’s your favorite scripture that has gotten you through a really fought time? Write it down. Post it online & place it somewhere you will always see it like your phone screen. In doing so, you will have constant reminders of how God’s Promise saved you & kept you going. Keep learning new scriptures to add to that list & share them with others. You never know how a Good Word may change somebody else’ day for the better.
