halloween || open starter 👻
This had been the first time since he was in his pre-teen years that Kurt had been absolutely unprepared for Halloween. With everything that had been going on between his relationship growing with Dom in ways neither of them had expected, the shows at the theatre, and helping his father at the garage...well, Kurt had honestly forgotten all about the holiday. Given the fact that it was his second-favorite holiday, he was genuinely surprised he'd forgotten that it'd been right around the corner. He'd only remembered roughly a week ago; he was just happy that his second career path after Broadway had been fashion, and he still had certain contacts in New York that were more than happy to help him out. Within a few days, he'd figured out what he wanted to do and put a costume together; he wasn't sure what had drawn him to the whole 'fallen angel' idea, but whatever it was, it'd been the right choice. Pausing to look at his reflection in the windows of the fire house before going inside, he smirked to himself; he looked good if he did say so himself. Stretching his arms out experimentally for a moment, he grinned as the wings attached to the sleeves of his jacket expanded; they were a bit bigger than he'd imagined, but they worked perfectly for the look he was going for. They didn't trip him up or get in the way when he was just standing there. Once he was inside, he grabbed himself something from the self-help drink bar that had been set up before turning his attention to the rest of the party. Now that he had something to quench his thirst, he could really absorb the atmosphere. It really did look pretty great this year. He had to admit he was grateful there were no mazes or rooms where jumpscares were a very real possibility like the previous year had been; he'd damn near bludgeoned a poor guy to death the previous year when he'd jumped out at him. As much as he loved Halloween, he did not handle jump scares well. "The place looks amazing," he mused out loud, taking a small sip of his drink. "But I do wonder what happens if the fire alarm goes off. Are there guys on duty? Are they in costume? Do they have to go to a rescue half in Halloween make-up or do their uniforms just double as a costume? I mean...firefighters are sexy, you know. It could work," he laughed softly with a slight shrug.
