Kurt wasnât exactly sure why he thought going through the haunted walkthrough actually carrying his mallet with him was a good thing. It was part of his costume, yes, but he should have known better. He wasnât a big horror fan, if he were being honest. One too many viewings of The Blair Witch Project and his ex-fiancĂŠâs obsession with the damn Conjuring universe had definitely taken its toll. He didnât hate horror movies per se, but he definitely wasnât their biggest fan. He definitely didnât watch them alone; usually only with someone who wouldnât judge him too hard if he left half moon shaped markings in their arm while watching over the personâs shoulder. Depending on the film at least. Even so, though, heâd heard that the walkthrough wasnât that bad so he thought he could walk through it by himself and be fine. He had been wrong. Admittedly most of it wasnât too bad. Some of the stuff was just creepy (he had a thing about clowns and dolls, and itâs like they were fucking everywhere), but the fact that he couldnât tell if the screaming was genuine people walking through and screaming out in fear or if it was a recorded effect for the added âspookinessâ made him uneasy. Logically, he knew people werenât too far behind him so of course others could see him, but it still felt like eyes were on him everywhere he turned in this place, and that didnât help either. To make matters worse, there were a few jump scares that had caught him way off guard - he wasnât good with jump scares - and now he was on edge. Especially towards the end of the walkthrough. He had psyched himself out so bad that he nearly took someones head off with his mallet; they had jumped out from behind one of the animatronics as a joke, one that he didnât take very well. Heâd stopped himself at the last second, but he had scared the shit out of the person. He couldnât apologize enough, and by the time he reached the end of the walkthrough he was damn near done with the night. He didnât want to leave, really, the rest of his night had been fun, but he definitely needed a drink. Something stronger than wine, at first at least.
Going over to the bar area, he ordered himself some shots of tequila as well as the largest glass of red he could get. âThat should work to calm my nerves a bit,â he muttered to himself before thanking the bartender. Slamming down one after another of the three shots of tequila he had ordered, he let out a cough as he gasped for air before shaking his head a bit and swallowing hard through the burn in his throat. âFuck me,â he cursed quietly as the bartender took the shots and poured him his glass of wine with a smirk on his face. âI hate the taste of tequila, but at least itâll get the job done.â He thanked the bartender again, grabbed his mallet and his wine, and moved towards a nearby table to sit down for a bit; he could still hear the screams and feel his pulse racing every time he thought about the poor guy that had jumped out at him. What would possess someone to jump out at another person with a croquet mallet in his hand was beyond him, but he definitely needed to calm down a bit.
