It’s my mother’s 65th birthday, and I still can’t imagine she’s halfway 60 already. I went home to celebrate with her and took a leave.

A few days ago, her sister, my Godmother, asked me to setup a money pulling cake or box for her. I was unable to make those arrangements as they required for me to be there and I am not transporting that huge amount of cash. So instead, I opted to have money bouquet arranged for my mother.

Side note, our neighbor spoiled my mom on the surprise, since I told that neighbor to get the flower if it arrived. Oh well. What can I do. Anyways, my mom was still surprised that it came from her sister.

We went out around afternoon. My gift for my mom actually was a shopping haul. No price tags asked, just get the clothes she wanted. We’re actually going on a trip this September, so she shopped for some of her outfits.

For dinner, I think this is going to be a long story, that I will probably share some other day. Also, idiotic of me to do. Well there is much more worst things to do in life.

As I was saying, for dinner, we ate at a local cafe in our province. I did messaged my ex (I am civil with her and friends with her, which, yes, there is a doubt for some that ex’s can’t be friends, yes I do realize that now.) that she should join us. She bought flowers for my mom. And my mom told me that she hopes we won’t fight as much (we didn’t fought much back then.) and be nice to her.

On my birthday back then, my mom wanted Salmon and there wasn’t any available. Today, there is one at the cafe and I got that for her. I ordered Baby Back Ribs intended for sharing. Buffalo Wings for my ex. Then I got some cakes so that they would sing a happy birthday song for my mom. We were definitely full by the end of the evening.

I just want to slightly clarify there’s no bad blood or toxicity with my past relationship. That’s all. I guess, why I invited my ex. It was always my mom and I, it’ll always be the two of us. So I invited another person, because my mom could really use the company.

Feelings aside, I’m happy that my mom is happy. She deserves all the good things in her life, she deserves all the best after raising me all by herself. I may not be able to fully give her everything, but I am doing my best to progress as she motivates me to strive harder and reach better and newer places in life. I guess that’s why I’m doing my best to become more mature and independent, so that I don’t have to worry her about me her only child suffering and struggling.
