A Beautiful Oceanfront Meal at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club
What is luxury to me? Anything that makes a memory. A walk with a friend. A dress that you’re wearing when you share your first kiss with the love of your life. The lingering scent of a candle that reminds you of the best summer vacation ever. A cheeseboard made for your family of friends for one of the family beach dinners that make La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club like nowhere else. Like NOWHERE else. Have you ever gathered with some of your oldest friends on the beach to watch the sunset while you all come together to create and share an oceanfront meal? Well, I hadn’t either until I discovered the joy of @LJBTC a few years back. It’s what keeps the families of @LJBTC coming back year after year after year - or, in my best friend Suzanne Karotkin Kilpatrick’s case - for the past 30 years. Every night, each family gathers on the beach in their designated spot, the table is set with their tablescape decor, the wine flows freely, the ribs get grilled, the salad gets tossed, the @LJBTC famous churros get dipped in chocolate, the laughter is laughed, and the memories are made. That’s a pretty ideal recipe for a successful summer vacation if you ask me.
So, while my life through the ever-smoky window of social media can at times look luxurious - and, at times it is and at times it’s anything but - nothing is as luxurious to me as quality time with those I love, singing along to yacht rock until with a beautiful sunset as the backdrop and one fine-looking cheeseboard being enjoyed long into the night until they come to take the beach chairs away. #DawnsDestinations #LJBTC
