I’m a big believer in talismans. A stuffed bunny named Patsy I’ve had since I was 3 - the pink, scrawny one with the one ear that my Nanny stroked while she was in a coma in the hospital in Sherman after suffering a stroke before she passed. Crystals of protection given to me by @kelseyjpatel. My St. Christopher’s medal that I swear keeps me safe as I travel - even if it is just a belief. And, more as the years go on. I always have been a believer in these little partners of faith. I carry them with me to important jobs. On a movie set. When I Emcee. When I host a luncheon. When I record a voiceover. When I record a song. When I’m dealing with challenging life stuff. And, sleep with Patsy the bunny every night and hug her when I need to feel close to my Nanny’s love long after she’s been gone. When I knew I had an important trip to Texas coming up - both professionally and personally, and realized my St. Christopher necklace had broken - I called on designer @marrincostello to curate some of her beautiful Mother Mary pieces to wear around my neck in harmony. She delivered them in person to my home the night before I left and that’s where the good energy and light began - with Marrin. (Thank you for that, angel lady.) Mary is believed to be the protector of life and family and is known best for miracles. I do love miracles, and especially while traveling, I find great solace in feeling protected. So, off I went yesterday to Dallas to see my family, to handle some important business and set off on a very exciting partnership in San Antonio next week. And, as both the plane took off in LA and then when the wheels hit the ground in Dallas, I found myself clutching my Mother Marys, feeling safe, feeling protected and being reminded that indeed everything will be okay and it will all turn out just exactly as it should.💗 Necklaces: Marrin Marie Costello — at DFW Airport.

Did you catch my @LifetimeTV premiere on Sunday? Every time I get to act, I feel like the luckiest kid on the playground. There’s no ego. No entitlement. Just “yay, yay, yay!!! Let’s play, y’all.” That’s what made me fall in love with acting at the Dallas Theater Center at age 2 1/2 and that’s why today, I accept any role offered if there are good, kind, creative, passionate people involved - because I LOVE IT!! I just feel so friggin’ grateful when I get that script in my hands and take out that highlighter that helps color the page and helps me find my voice. And, almost every single time, I say quietly to myself, “oh boy, I get to play today!” - and, get that same smile on my face that I used to get as a little kid. Thank you to everyone on this super fun film -#PsychoStripper - for “inviting” me to play. I hope I get to jump in the sandbox much more in the next year. I feel like this is just the beginning...

Once upon a time in Dallas, I told my mom Clarice McCoy that I was moving to LA to be an actress as soon as y’all graduated from college. Let’s just say she wasn’t “super thrilled” about it but she supported me even though she didn’t quite understand it. She even said to me, “Maybe you can be in one of those Lifetime movies. Those run a lot.” I replied, “Yeah. Maybe so.” Well, it’s taken 18 years but, Mom — This Sunday, I’ll be on your tv screen as Rhonda - the hairstylist with a heart of gold - in #PsychoStripper, written and directed by the always-amazing and fun-and-easy-and-delightful-to-work-with Jake Helgren. What a fun shoot it was with the most delightful cast and crew! I feel so grateful for this moment in my life for so many reasons. It’s just a joyful, bustling, busy time and I couldn’t be more happy. Let this be a reminder to all of us impatient ones out there. It’s not about age...or limits...or YOUR timing. It’s all about when the timing is right - - and, usually we are the worst judges of that. I know I am!
