 the secret history starters || ALWAYS ACCEPTING??

     Hana’s first instinct is to say yes, of course, who wouldn’t be happy here? She’s got a roof over her head and a bed to sleep on, and she rarely goes to sleep hungry, and she has more tools to repair her mech than she’d ever imagined. More than that, though, she has a family, even if that family is just a ragtag trio trying to survive one day to the next.

     The question is more than that, it though, ‘here’ in the broader sense of the term, and… Honestly, Hana doesn’t know. There’s more out there, beyond the ocean, on the other continents, but they have no way of getting there, and no way of contacting any outsiders for help. They’re effectively trapped, doomed to die slowly and painfully in the dirt, and Hana likes to think that the only reason they haven’t recieved aid is because nobody knows of their situation. That has to be it, right? Right?

     The truth is, yes, she’s happy with Roadhog and Junkrat, but no, she isn’t happy here. This place is hostile, unfriendly to outsiders and insiders alike. It’d sooner chew you up and spit you out than show you any mercy, and when this places chews you up, it chews hard, teeth grinding like gears to crush you into dust.

     “I don’t think anyone is happy here,” Hana replies quietly after a long pause, toying with the rusted screwdriver in her hand. She’s just finished readjusting one of the smaller panels on her mech, one that keeps popping off and exposing the more fragile interior of it. “This place doesn’t want you to be happy, it wants you dead.” The head of the screwdriver fits into the notch of the screw; a few more twists has the metal piece secured into place, and one more twist has the tool popping out and flying from her grip. Fantastic.
