Rex trio having a barbecue

Armed with J’s new UV rash guard shirt, we were finally ready for the beach. It was windy today and a bit cloudy, but still beautiful. The hair braiding lady who walks the beachfront came up to us to braid S’ hair. It turns out that this is best done when the hair is already wet with sea water. J picked out a few beads and a shell to add to S’ hair. S was pretty disappointed with the results as the beads are at the bottom of the two braids in his hair. He is worried the beads will fall out soon as they are only secured with rubber bands and not sewn in, like the Samburu beads that have stayed in his hair for more than 3 months.

It looks like we are trying to get back to London through Iceland. However, it does not appear there are any reasonable hotels available in Iceland. We continue to look.

We went to the weekly beach barbecue (our second). The food was just as good as before, maybe better. The crowd was completely different. There were very few children. The DJ played pretty much the same songs in the same order as he did last time. This time he had to work a bit harder to get people dancing. The fire performer showed up again. This time he got one of the men in the audience to perform a few tricks with him, which included holding a fire stick between the legs. It appears that most people only stay here a week at a time. We are staying for 18 days.

As soon as the fire guy left, the place emptied out and we called it a night.
