counselor for a theater camp

have friend who’s dad teaches combat to the campers

meet him last week, for one day, but don’t speak a word besides a polite “hello”

combat guy comes in today to block out more scenes

end of the day rolls around, campers are gone

he looks directly at me and says, “oh, hello, [name] :)” way too cheerily

i did not tell him my name

i hadn’t even introduced myself

combat guy says his son, my friend, told him about our interaction last week

be heavily embarrassed, but all play it off as light fun

the conversation continues

we somehow reach the topic of jackie chan stunts

combat guy starts talking about jackie chan missing part of his skull due to a stunt gone wrong

i reply, “i have a part of my skull missing”

he, without missing a beat, says, “it explains why you’re friends with my son”

my face when a grown ass middle aged man not only slam dunks on me, but also his own son simultaneously:

As im showing her my scars and crying, my brother comes in

Demands she (mum) comes and buys him his special school hodie THIS INSTANT

I protest

I am told by my brother that there are more important things than me

He has a lot on his face which i imagine myst be exactly what rich men wear when they tell young women its because of what they were wearing
