I would like to thank you for indoctrinating me into the skycoffin ship, I like it a lot.
Do you have any headcannons about their relationship? I'm curious.
YIPPEE I'M GLAD YOURE INTERESTED!!!!
I have so many. Almost none of which I'm going to be able to articulate properly on account of the verbal shutdown irl. But I shall try
I like to think their entities play a huge role in how their feelings for each other affect them. Simon was not made to care like this and focusing on his feelings too hard is physically painful. He has physical reactions to them as if he were sick, like his body is detecting a foreign object and trying to force it out. His love feels like sin but he's always loved blasphemy
I go back and forth on how I think Hezekiah's emotions feel but rn I like the idea that his feelings are lighter and freer than anything he's ever felt. He's so used to his emotions being crushing, revels in the way he suffocates every time he feels anything, but this is different. This is weightless and pure and it's worse than being choked out. He wants to cast it out but he can never grab ahold of it to bury it
I love thinking about their fucked up lil emotions<333 onto some general headcanons tho bc I love talking about those too
Hezekiah is semi verbal and Simon is hyperverbal. Hezekiah who forces words out of his throat like dirt vs Simon who's every thought tumbles out of his mouth before he even thinks about it. Yapper x listener <3
My personal headcanon is that Hezekiah buried himself sometime in the late 1800's and Simon convinced himself that he didn't care, and then in the 21st century some entity fuckery happens and Hezekiah gets unburied. And obviously the only person he knows is Simon, and Simon is always inclined to help people when he thinks it will be amusing, so Hezekiah just kinda lives in Simon's house. Temporarily, of course. And only for convenience. No other reason. I don't know why you would think otherwise /silly
Hezekiah has so much internalized homophobia (religious) and Simon cannot deal with his feelings at all ever so they obviously don't care about each other at all and aren't dating. Ignore the living together thing. And the physical affection. And the ring. And the-
They are both CONSTANTLY understimulated. Simon because he doesn't register sensory input very well, and Hezekiah because he needs constant crushing weight on him in order to feel regulated. They use each other as their personal weighted blankets
Simon has attempted to drop Hezekiah in the Vast. Hezekiah has attempted to bury Simon. Multiple times. It has not ended well for either of them at any point
Genderfluid/pangender Simon and agender Hezekiah. They are gay men and butchfemme lesbians and literally everything in between. The answer to "what's your sexuality/gender/pronouns" question is usually "whatever will piss you off the most". Or just a trip to the Buried. Either one
Hezekiah and Jonah fucking hate each other which is really inconvenient considering how often Jonah likes to enter Simon's house uninvited. They are so passive aggressive with each other and Simon is like "awwww look at my favorite pets squabbling with each other 🥰"
Oh yeah Simon is incapable of viewing others as real people on the same level as him. He tries a little harder with Hezekiah and Mike on account of the genuine affection for them but there's such a disconnect in his brain because of how he views everyone as insignificant. He's trying his best </3
Hezekiah is not exactly emotional but he is very easily consumed by his emotions when he does feel them. Simon very rarely feels anything of enough importance to register in his head or warrant a reaction. Most of their fights involve Hezekiah getting angry about something, yelling about it, Simon simply standing and taking it without much reaction, and then Hezekiah getting even angrier at how little Simon cares about him. Neither of them will ever work on this or develop healthy communication skills </3
And also just reiterating one of my favorite headcanons I think I've said a few times on here. Simon is an absolutely awful judge of his own emotions. He doesn't know what he's feeling ever. Jonah had to look in his head and make a condescending remark at him in order for him to realize that weird painful feeling in his chest every time he was around Hezekiah was actually love. They r so stupid godbless<3
That's all I can think of for now! Thank you so much for the ask I love talking about them!! 💛💛
