this show has a problem with claiming Great Stakes and never actually owning up to them and like refusing to show Lasting Consequences outside of a couple exceptional cases and they had the prime chance to do it but instead put poor steve through a pointless dead-end romance arc because they were scared of killing a fan favorite :/

would we have cried?? yes! but the Good Story kind of cry rather than the "that was a stupid writing decision" kind of cry
