They had been running for what seemed like an eternity, but in the chaos of the chase, they had become separated. What had the purifiers done to her? Where would she be now?

Finally, exhausted and fist-close to his heart, trying to control his heartbeat, John stopped. He leaned against a tree, panting, trying to catch his breath and chase away the fears that gripped him. He closed his eyes tightly, trying to focus on the words Clarice had said to him at their last encounter before they parted amid the chaos.

"I will wait for you." Clarice's words echoed in his mind. John clung to that belief as if it were his only lifeline.

With a new determination, he stood up and continued on his way. He couldn't stand still, not when Clarice might be out there, needing him as much as he needed her.

Days turned into nights, and nights turned into days as John continued his tireless search. Along the way, he found other mutants who shared his fate, other beings who had lost loved ones in the hunt for the Purifiers. Together, they formed a family of wounded souls, united by grief and hope.

Finally, after several attempts, John found Clarice. They held each other tightly as if they could protect each other from every evil that existed in the world.

"I found you," John murmured, his voice trembling with emotion and relief.

"I always knew you would," Clarice said. "I´ve waited for you."

In one of the many escapes, the enemies cornered them in an abandoned warehouse. The place was dark and full of shadows, which gave the mutants a small advantage. Clarice opened a portal, and the two quickly entered, escaping their pursuers. However, the Sentinels did not give up, so they somehow tracked the portal to Clarice and John's new destination and found them in a lush forest. The pair moved quickly through the trees, avoiding enemy attacks. John managed to make it difficult for himself while managing to protect Clarice as he opened a new escape portal.

The mutants finally reached an old, abandoned subway shelter. They knew they had to find a way to disable the alarms and security systems to avoid detection. After they succeeded, they went deeper into the shelter.

As they explored the shelter, Clarice and John discovered that it was full of other mutants who had been captured by the Purifiers or the Sentinels. They listened for a while to what they were being told by them as they tried to see how to rescue them and get them out of the place.

The pair also wondered if they had been caught in a trap, so they were also on the lookout for enemies. They had managed to free the other mutants; now the important thing was to get out of the place.

Although they did not know if they were walking into a trap carefully prepared by the enemies, everyone kept their senses alert, listening carefully for any sign of enemy presence. Meanwhile, the captured mutants were telling them about their terrible experiences, how they had been taken from their lives, and everything they knew. Clarice and John felt the urgency to rescue them and get them out of that place, but they also knew they needed to be cautious not to walk into a trap.

They thought they were in a relatively quiet area, seemingly without danger. Clarice used her ability to open portals and explored the different corridors and rooms of the shelter to find a way out of the place.

A pesar de que no sabían si estaban caminando hacia una trampa cuidadosamente preparada por los enemigos. Todos mantenían sus sentidos alerta, escuchando atentamente cualquier indicio de presencia enemiga.

Finalmente, después de una exhaustiva búsqueda, encontraron un panel de control central que controlaba las alarmas y los sistemas de seguridad del refugio. Afortunadamente uno de los mutantes era especialista en tecnología por lo que fue fácil desactivar todo, aún así debían de apurarse, no sabían cuánto tiempo tenían antes de ser descubiertos.

Before the mission, they met at one of the mutant headquarters in the subway. Clarice was nervous about having to pretend to be a couple, just as John tried to hide his true feelings for Clarice, but every time he looked at her, his heart beat faster.

The night of the party finally arrived. Clarice and John entered the venue, looking flawless and radiant. As they made their way through the crowd, they realized how well they complemented each other. Their conversations were fluid and natural, and their chemistry was undeniable.

As the night progressed, the tension between them became more apparent. Their glances became more intense, and their casual brushes became more meaningful.

As they walked through the party, Clarice and John continued with their roles, but inside, they both knew that what they were experiencing went beyond what they were pretending; there were other kinds of feelings.

In the middle of the crowd, they encountered a suspicious man who seemed to have information. Clarice and John decided to separate momentarily so they could investigate.

Clarice was in one of the main rooms, where she was surrounded by influential and powerful people. As she tried to keep her objective in mind, her mind kept wandering back to John.

Meanwhile, John was in the garden of the mansion, trying to gather information. But his mind was constantly distracted by thinking about Clarice. He couldn't help but wonder if there was something more between them beyond the mission.

When Clarice and John met again, their gazes met, and at that moment, they pulled each other close and melted into a passionate kiss. After a few seconds, Clarice broke the kiss and whispered to him. John, I know this is just a game, but what I feel for you is something inexplicable: I'm in love with you.

John looked at her in surprise but quickly broke into a big smile.

Clarice, I feel the same way," John confessed. From the moment I saw you, I knew I wanted to be with you forever.

They continued to pretend to be a couple for the rest of the night, but this time with clearer minds, so they could get the information they needed.

After successfully completing their mission, Clarice and John decided that they were going to be a couple. However, their relationship would be no problem for mutant welfare.

Although they didn't care much about what the rest thought, after all, these were difficult times for everyone, and they knew what could happen to them if they were caught by the Sentinels or any enemy.
