It was a thrilling encounter and one I hope to experience again in 2021. I really miss being out on the water by north Vancouver Island. I miss my special place and all the amazing wildlife that’s there. This lockdown can’t end soon enough. Until then, I’ll hold onto memories like these that’ll help to carry me through. As we travelled from Prince Rupert to Klemtu yesterday, we were happily surprised to encounter T059s in Grenville Channel. Two days ago, these same Bigg's orca were observed by the researchers at Whale Point hunting and killing a sea lion in Whale Channel! Our favourite dynamic duo is back again! Hook (top) and Amy (bottom) were seen together in Beauchemin Channel as part of a larger bubble-net feeding group. Hook and Amy are seen travelling and feeding together year after year and we always look forward to their return to our coast.
