I just started following you and I love your headcanons. You have amazing insight. Everyone concentrates on Tony's relationship with Morgan (myself included). But what about Pepper? What are your thoughts on Morgan and Pepper's relationship?
Thank you! Iâm glad you like my posts!
Pepper would be a great mother. Sheâs busy as CEO of a global corporation, yes, but after having Morgan she makes a few changes to her schedule and lifestyle so that sheâs spending enough quality time with her daughter.
(this ended up being really long, so itâs under a read more)
When Morganâs still a toddler, Pepper spends every morning with her before going to work. Sheâs always been an early riser so itâs never a problem, and sheâll stay with Morgan until she has to leave at 8:30 to get to the office. If she doesnât have any lunch meetings, Pepper heads home for lunch so she can see her daughter more. Unfortunately being a CEO means that she generally has to stay long after 5pm everyday, but she makes it a point to get home in time for dinner so she can give Morgan her bath before Tony rocks the baby to sleep.
Once Morganâs old enough to for school, Pepper sends a company-wide notice informing her employees of her new schedule. As always, sheâs an early riser, but the difference is that once Morgan is out the door with Happy at 7 to get to school, Pepper leaves home to get to the office as well. She doesnât want her daughter growing up with memories of an absent mother, so Pepper changes her office hours to 7:30 to 3:30, so she can get home and help with homework or projects. She sets a hard limit of three dinner meetings per month so they can have quality family time in the evenings.
Tonyâs become a stay-at-home dad, so naturally Morgan spends a lot of time with her dad. But itâs never a competition between Pepper and Tony on whoâs the better parent. They have different responsibilities and they work together to make sure Morgan grows up in the best environment possible. While Tony does a lot of the domestic stuff, like packing Morganâs lunches and picking her up from school, Pepper also clears her schedule whenever important school events come up. She and Tony take turns going to parent/teacher conferences and Pepperâs sure to never miss a soccer game or piano recital unless there are extenuating circumstances where she has to be halfway across the globe to sort out a crisis.
Morgan spends a lot of time with Tony in the lab. He teaches her science and engineering, and they often work on projects together with Peter as well. But Morgan also gets a lot of quality girl time with Pepper. Tony is open-minded and always reminds Morgan that heâs there if she wants to talk about anything, but heâs still her dad and sometimes there are just some things you donât talk about with your dad, no matter how cool he is.
Pepper and Morgan have mother/daughter dates at least twice a month. They spend a Saturday together going shopping, visiting cute cafes, and they talk about everything, especially the things that Morgan doesnât know how to talk to Tony about. Pepper gives Morgan advice on how to make friends, how to deal with crushes, and reassures her daughter whenever sheâs feeling overwhelmed with schoolwork or the media limelight thatâs been on her since the day she was born.
Tony teaches Morgan how to be aloof in front of the cameras, but Pepper teaches her how to make the media work in her favor.
The thing is, yeah, Tonyâs awesome and heâs Iron Man and the coolest man in the world. But if anyone asks Morgan who her role model is? She wouldnât even hesitate before answering with âmy mom.â
