We don't need your sort here. While waiting to order at Waterdrop Cafe, Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, a group of women we're leaving. The Temple’s gift and Buddhist shop is attached to the cafe. One woman barked at her companions who we're looking at the Buddhist items, ”You don't need any more junk!” It took a while to register that offensive remark, by which time they had shuffled way past us. I really regretted not challenging these women who had no right to be here with that attitude. Boh ka si, qui bo. I had the privilege of meeting and talking to the Venerable Manshin, Abess of Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple. She was totally serene & compassionate. Unlike that group of venal interlopers. We had ”A Bowl of Preserved Vegetables”, typical monk & nun’s food. Ai Ling had the steamed buns with barbecued soy filling and a cooling kumquat tea.
