A portion of my stash. 😅 Why Supplements? 💥 Nutrition is the foundation for any major physical transformation and when you lift weights and do more physical activity than you did before, sometimes you need a little extra help to make sure you keep your body running right. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 Basic Rules of Supplements: 1. Consult with a doctor before adding any supplement to your regular diet. Not everything is good for everyone and talking with an actual nutritionist would only benefit you! 2. Research your product! Don’t just buy it because the label looks cool and you’re favorite IG chick is downing it in her latest pic. Check out the manufacturer, the ingredients and see if it really is going to add value to your nutrition. (Hint: Most beginners in the 1st year or so of lifting so not need supplements to see significant change!) 3. Determine your specific goals and talk with a personal trainer about how you can reach them. I got @nasm_fitness Certified as a personal trainer in 2016 and so have done a lot of research about my products, which I only use when I am training heavy for a particular goal. This is not regular food and not meant for long term digestion. I use these supps to lift heavier, get more protein into my system and bump up my metabolism. I’ve also been lifting on and off for the better part of three years now. I did not need all of this when I got started. I have a strict (ish) schedule for my supps and I eat a ton of delicious real food! 🥩 🍗 🐟 🥦 🍠 🍚 4. Follow the instructions! There are a lot of instructions and you will feel as though you’re whole life is about food and supps and the gym but... if you’re training for a specific goal such as the @bodybuildingcom #250kchallenge2018 with @optimumnutrition then yes, that may be a big part of your life! 😅Following the instructions helps you to optimize the results of the product you are using. Don’t try to be fancy or different. Just follow what it says and stay consistent. 5. Consistency! Just do it. Then do it again. And again. Results don’t happen right away.
