Forgot to showcase the metro systems for the first portion of the Filastin neighborhood. We have a very robust bus system in this neighborhood keeping its large area feeling close-knit and connected.
We have metro stations such as Istresanje Station. Istresanje is the Bosnian word for "Uprising." This station is at the intersection of Sarajevska Cesta (Sarajevo Road) and درب الانتفاضة (Intifada Way). Bosnians know all too well about genocide and oppression. We have Al-Thuwār الثوار which is a station close to one of the main cathedrals in the neighborhood named for "The Revolutionaries." We have Baysān Station بيسان, Al-Majdal Station المجدل, Šaħmä (Shahma) شحمة Station, Umm Al-Šawf (Shawf) Station أم الشوف, and Rantiyya Station رنتية for depopulated villages and towns in Palestine. Al-Qițā` Station القطاع is at the intersection of Malcom X Boulevard and Intifada Way. It was named for the Qita` or (Gaza) "Strip" قطاع غزة that Malcom X visited in 1964.
Sometimes I just name stations for the streets they stop at and other times I try and put a lot of thought behind the naming of them. Naming and placing metro stations is probably my favorite part of drawing this city.
