past: huang mingfei, the youngest son of the huang family. didn’t get much attention from his parents as a child. started off as a model for a diaper commercial until his career skyrocketed as a child actor. his grandparents taught him how to play the piano and guitar by ear, which stemmed his love for music. released his first album at sixteen years old and continued to do so every year during his birthday.  a bit of a problem child when he got famous, but everything changed when his ex-girlfriend got pregnant and gave birth to twins. mingfei began to change his ways just so he could be the father he never had for the girl and the boy. unfortunately his ex thinks otherwise and left them one night. since then he decided to take a hiatus to get his children away from the spotlight.

present: twenty-seven lands him a job as a music composition professor in busan arts uni in korea. he still writes and composes songs occasionally, but never sang in public. his children are now three years old and mingfei has never felt more blessed to have them with him. at the same time, the constant fear of being not good enough for them still haunts him. maybe a little regret from taking his career for granted. his grandmother keep telling him to find another girl to marry but... he’s kinda reluctant to be in a relationship after all that. 

future: to be a decent parent, less ‘what ifs’. try singing again and see how it works for him. 

personality: forgetful. seems absentminded at times, but is actually coming up with a melody in his head. the epitome of odd genius. strict with attendance and grades so don’t expect to pass if you half-assed his class. if he thinks a student has potential, he would guide them personally whether he realize it or not. lowkey jaded and cynical, but always looks for the good side in things unconsciously. loves his children with all of his life.

gyujin was originally born and raised in seoul. his parents were really successful psychologists and wanted him to kinda carry on that line? so they could push their research onto him? kinda like a family business thing

so they were really fucking strict right off the bat. you know, the type that would instil physical enforcement, too, to make sure kids did what they were told? yeah, he had to nurse quite a few bruises and cuts ngl

but he shut up and got on with it? 

they were pushing him to get into s.k.y, since they both went to korea university 

but he had literally no interest at all (despite the fact he’s actually super smart and knows a lot about psychology already)

he’d instead developed an interest in photography, and would always buy new cameras and lenses whenever he could

his parents went batshit every time, naturally, and would always take them away from him

it didn’t stop him, and he instead got super good at it

lmao somewhere along the way he also came out as being gay and his parents beat him down for it, told him to keep quiet about it to prevent the family name being “ruined” as they’d say

so like, cue gyujin graduating high school, he got a scholarship into korea university for psychology and he straight up told them to shove it where the sun don’t shine

and his parents were like “listen”

he didn’t listen

so they kicked him

he had to live off what money he had in his account at the time, had to immediately find a job

it was a rough time, he’d suddenly gone from rich kid to living low

it’d actually caused him to sink into depression because he was convinced he’d hit rockbottom many times, despite this being what he wanted

to cope with his depression, he became something akin to a sex addict, but made it a rule to not sleep with the same people twice to save him the hurt

it got worse, to the point he’d have literal withdrawals if he went too long without it

so he decided he wanted to do something with himself rather than slum and sleep around like it was going out of fashion

he saved up to buy the best camera he could manage to buy at the time, and decided he was going to make a portfolio 

from there, he travelled to busan and tried to apply for bau, but failed a few times

he eventually got in under a photography major and

surprise surprise 

hit another rockbottom

this time because he had no money at all and was going through his own freak out through student loans 

again, he ended up getting a job as a security guard this time

because he’s a literal muscle pig

would do sports at the uni but he doesn’t have time since he’s working a lot and trying to keep up

but he currently lives in the haru dorms, with a roomie, if anyone wants to take that spot? 

GABI is an interesting person

she’s a flirty bisexual vlogger that loves making people blush

she’s also very very very fake poetic

she acts like she knows what art really is and she lowkey doesn’t

but in her short films, everything is surprisingly beautiful and has this ethereal feel to it

she’s super passionate about filming and making short films as well as videos on youtube, which is why she’s almost always vlogging or editing

gabi isn’t good at a lot of things besides flirting and filming

due to his parents being so busy all the time, he was surrounded by nannies and only his precious grandma around

despite his parents never being there, they’d still pressure him into learning proper etiquette & protocol that fit of a child of such a first rate family

he was taught respect, discipline, control & excellence from such a young age that it was engraved into his brain

the only bit of his classes that he enjoyed were artful ones, theatrics to be exact 

he was burdened to pick up the piano & violin, but the only thing keeping him on his toes was the beautiful literature and aesthetics of plays and such, which was tutored to him by no other than his grandma

there was no escape from the day where his precious, dear, dear grandma would lay to sleep and never awaken again

the loss of the only loving and and sweet comfort he ever knew in his life has shaken him for more than he would ever admit 

the warm fingers wiping his tears away and whispered reassurances of “you’ll be something spectacular in the future, i just know it.” every night was what kept the boy grounded

the loss of the beautiful and affectionate warm hearted smile as he rambled on & on about the beautifulness of english, korean and french literature 

the only time his parents ever noticed a change in their sons demeanor, because as much as a great actor he was, he just couldnt pretend to be okay

this continued on for years, he was barely the same excellent child prodigy he was before, depressed at only 14 years old

four years later, his father has had enough once he brings back home the news of him failing a school year with deadbeat eyes

a slap to the face, and a ticket to sk was landed as he was sent away in hopes of finding his light once again

before leaving, his mother allowed him to take as much of his grandma’s stuff as he wanted, her warmed wallowed eyes feasting on her son’s consumed appearance before taking her son into her embrace for the first time since he was a toddler 

that night, they both wept together

in that time he spent alone, away from his parents and depressed thoughts prompted everytime he walked by what used to be his grandmother’s room, he managed to find his smile again

despite still being rough on the inside, he was a firm believer of happiness on the outside equals happiness on the inside in some way or another

even so, he was a magnificent actor, unreadable other than the smile he puts on his face

now, a prodigy student studying THEATER STUDIES at BAU.

so,, ahri’s mother didn’t wanna be a mom. like ever. she met a kinda wealthy man when ahri was like four months old and the pressure made her run away; since then she’s lived with her father, aunt and uncle. because ahri doesn’t remember her, most of the time she doesn’t care about it... still it gets to her from time to time.

since they had a below average monetary condition, her family worked a lot and because of that she used to spend a lot of time at her neighbor’s, a nice lady that loved piano and taugh her how to play. ahri started getting good and the lady offered her dad to pay for more appropriate classes for her, and it was ahri’s biggest blessing, probably?

she was never a good example at school; she managed to get through it with good enough grades but terrible manners. ahri liked to skip classes during high school to practice bass and to look for people to form a band, but at the end of the day would always come pack to piano and all that fancy musicality. unfinished homeworks, late projects, bad results at some exams, answering her teachers with sarcasm? ahri did it all. everything would lead to her dad spending time with her, even if it meant to be scolded.

high school also meant piano competitions, yeahhhhh!! ahri loved it but also hated it. practicing took hours and stress and pressure but after everything was done, it was just so satisfying. the best part would probably be being considered very good at something, especially to prove it to the school superiors who would think of her of nothing more than a lazy troublemaker?

after winning third place at a competition at nineteen, ahri was invited to apply for bau and yessss, she got half a scholarship and it was enough. however it didn’t mean she got any better: late at class, average grades, informal speech and constantly almost breaking every rule there was,,, what saved her was her talent, honestly. 

at college in busan ahri finally got a band where she plays bass quite decently as a hobby and loves their gigs. she’s used to losing the time to get in the dormitory thanks to being out with the band, but really doesn’t care at all. she loves piano and all but playing upbeat songs at a bar with a good drink right after would be much more entertaining.

HER PERSONALITY,,, yes she thinks she’s funny with a smart mouth but probably isn’t. very friendly, likes to talk to people but deeply afraid of being left out. likes to get attention, loves the idea of being loved but can’t handle it, actually. thinks her father doesn’t like her since he’s quiet and more reserved while she’s not. have i said afraid of being left? high possibility of her falling platonically in love with anyone at first sight. sometime’s very annoying. likes to compose cliche songs!! she’s soft, that’s all,,,,

w o a h ! was that kim yerim ? oops, nope. that was jeon sejoo, a student at busan art university who is majoring in music theory & instrumental. i think they’re living in the haru dorms with a roommate. i heard that they were a nineteen year old, cisfemale who is ardent & sarcastic and prefers she/her pronouns. jeon sejoo is the youngest of three and was born and raised in daegu, sk to a middle-class family. 

is a person who eats, sleeps, and breathes music partially because she wants to, and partially because she’s just carrying on the family legacy. her father was a classical cellist and her mother was a pianist so she got her abilities from them

her parents were two people had no love for each other but they loved their children dearly so, they stayed together. she took piano and cello lessons to appease her parents because she knew that it was the only thing that would make them happy

when she turned 18, her parents divorced. and even though deep down she knew that she and her siblings were what was holding the family together she was still hurt at the announcement of their split

along with being hurt, she was also angry she felt like she could have been doing something else that made her happy. her parents divorcing made sejoo feel like all her hard work to please them was for nothing.

she tried to quit playing music and took up other activities like soccer and art, but she wasn’t good at them like she was with music so she quickly got over her rebellious phase and went back to music

even now at 19, she’s still kind of bitter at her parents for divorcing but she’s also thankful to them for giving her something to love. bc even when she wasn’t playing, she still clung to music

she knows her parents are proud of her for going to such a good arts college, but she’s attending for herself (mostly) and not them. when she graduates she hopes to become a music teacher because she wants to share her “passion”

anyways, heavy stuff aside,,, personality wise, sejoo has really dry humor and is often misunderstood for being rude but she’s really soft and hates to hurt people’s feelings

it’s kind of unexpected but, she’s the bad influence friend™. most of her childhood was spent trying to please her parents, and she didn’t really have much of an angsty teen phase so she gets up to most of her shenanigans nowadays.

is also very chill. you could tell her you killed a man and she’d ask you if you need help hiding the body

she’s always ready to roast. being the youngest sibling she’s used to being “bullied” and will most likely get you before you get her

joonhee can’t remember when he DIDNT play the geomungo, the instrument is with him in all of his memories

his whole family are players of traditional korean instruments, in fact, his grandfather (on his mom’s side) is a bearer of a national intangible cultural heritage and considered nationwide as a intangible cultural asset with the geogumgo.

his grandfather was the one he was with the most as the elder wanted to teach his son how to play but only had a girl (joonhee’s mom is a professor at korea national university of arts, player of the gayageum and a pansori singer)

his life was somewhat hard since he spent all of his free time (a.k.a when he wasn’t in school) practicing the geogumgo under the harsh training of his grandfather

considering his grandfather’s talent it was no surprise when joonhee started performing for real, that his natural talent was recognized

while joonhee grew to dislike the instrument in his early teens, now, he is extremely dedicated. the geogumgo is like his life line, he can’t live without it anymore

he was recognized because he was the grandson of the renowned seo jungmin or because of his natural talent; he is slightly frustrated that people seem to think he was born talented and didn’t put any work in his craft

he would have went to korea national university of arts but since his mom works there and he didn’t want people to say there’s some favoritism, he applied for the known school in busan

personality wise, he spends all of his time playing. he doesn’t really know how to socialize with others because he’s been doing that since young. a.k.a joonhee has no friends and doesn’t know how to make some

he talks in a uninterested manner and can seem pretty cold, even rude & mean but he told himself he’d try to make friends at university.....he’s just too awkward and friendliness is not in his dictionnary

he’s thinking of joining  a club in order to befriend some people but last time he tried that, he scared some first years

joonhee has an elegance to him, maybe because he trained since young, every and each of his moves seem to flow like water; so even though he thought everyone hated him in high school, most people loved him, he just didn’t know that
