        she wants to go home.
it’s not the other’s fault, but point blank — the crowd was a bit much.
the worst part? it was SAERA who had been the one to ask for the other girl to meet her here. she knew the library might be boring and too quiet for them to actually talk, but now she found herself regretting to think otherwise. they were seated in a popular café near the university, near the back where she thought there’d be less noise, sketchbook lain on the table as she doodled the girl in front of her again. she already looked like a webtoon character; yet the artist found herself crossing out the first few doodles she made of her, unsatisfied with all of them.
“ out of curiosity, ” she began, studying her current appearance, “ how come you’re only majoring in piano? you play bass too — are you not allowed to focus on two instruments at the same time? ”
it’s hard to try to look natural; still, ahri continues with her attempts, every now and then awkwardly stealing glances to saera’s doodles of her. she absolutely loves it, and ahri feels slightly proud to be inspiring someone like this. actually, she’d never have thought her life would be anything inspiring, and thinking about it makes her cheeks go red. ahri lays her chin on her palm and tilts her head just enough to be comfortable, grinning at saera.Â
“hm, that’s a good question,” she hums, enjoying the other’s interest in her. “i've played the piano for way longer; years of it, and it’s where i’m better. bass is how i have fun, piano’s how i accomplish things.” ahri sighs. there’s no doubt she loves her major, but it takes so much from her. people around them are starting to get louder and ahri wonders if that’s what disturbing saera’s work rather than ahri not being able to act natural properly. “and now that you pointed out how much it feels like a double life, i kinda enjoyed separating things even more.”
