For the most part, car shows, cruises, or whatever you want to call them, are relatively drama and incident free. Yet, every now and then the evil side of the hobby rears it’s ugly head. This was evident in a post I found on Facebook today.

The Old Time Drags at Raceway Park in Englishtown,NJ on Sunday July 24th was the scene of such an incident. The victim was Rich Stuck and his Battlebird Recreation.

An open letter to the low life that keyed the top of the right side fender of my Battlebird while it was on display at last weekend’s Old Time Drags.

I just discovered the zig zag pattern damage today, while cleaning up the car. It has been nowhere else.

Whoever committed this criminal act has no business going to car events. If your jealously , or rage, or stupidity leads you to destroy the hard work of others for whatever reason, just stay home. Satisfy you criminal urges by pulling the wings off of flys or maybe self flagellation.

Did you have a good laugh? Did you tell your friends? . Do you think you are going to stop me from enjoying my car and showing it to others?

You did not succeed . I spent the afternoon wet sanding the clear coat and removing the work of which you must be so proud. In a few more hours there will be no trace of your juvenile act.

I can’t for the life of me figure out what someone would do this. . .especially at a show! Hopefully someone may have seen something suspicious and they will come forward. Yah know, do the right thing for once. If you have any info let us know and we’ll pass it along.
