This fic is funny, light-hearted, and manages to give me second-hand butterflies whenever I read it, all while maintaining really fantastic characterization. And it remains one of the few Christmas fics that I actually enjoy, as a non-Christmas celebrator. All around wonderful little story!

jane_x80 is my go to Tony/Gibbs author, and this is probably my favorite of their fics. It’s hilarious, they write Tony perfectly, and it nails the energy of the show—balancing humor, character dynamics, and the more serious elements of the police procedural genre. It’s a super fantastic take on an emotional constipated but (sort of?) romantically proactive Gibbs and a very confused pining Tony that doesn’t sacrifice either of their characterizations to pull off the premise of the story. It’s also got the endearing and timeless classic energy of early 2000s work (which fits perfectly with the era of the show that the fic is set in) despite being written in 2017.

Any suggestions may or may not be repurposed for my fic, but no names will be used.
