∞ - How did you get into Tumblr?

I remember one of my friends introducing me to it in early high school, and I totally got one of those fancy incomprehensible themes and figured it was mostly a site to post my own original work on - and obviously promptly got, like, no notes or feedback or anything and abandoned it for a while. I think I only really got into Tumblr when people started going out of their way to point out fandom blogs to me, haha, which was mostly Homestuck!

First impression: SO MANY TROLLS. SO MANY TROLLS. I think I loved Chiroh from the start, partially because her interactions with Fisher meant she was easy to keep track of, but also because she’s an awful person and I love her and her weaves.

✔:A plot you would love to play out with your character

Pheres and romantic shenanigans! I’ve done fifty million hook-up threads because the situations that come out are frequently absolutely dreadful and hilarious to witness, and dating threads seems like they’d be equally endearing, tbh. This would be less of a plot and more of a series of one-offs, linking back to the universal theme of “PHERES NO”, but consider:

Him attempting pitch-dating would be a glorious disaster. Trying to pitch-flirt by dumping tea on someone and then frantically apologising when he realises it was hot, because oh no, what if they got burnt. A pitch-date where he enthusiastically drags them out to the fairs to show he is a criminal mastermind and oh shit did they just get pick-pocketed?? (| What do We Do Now | ? | Well | Ah | | | I Know Someone who Sells New Credit Chips | ! |)

(Him attempting pale-dating would be an equal mess, albeit in a different direction. Pale-dating is a bit pointless when his default response to anyone pressing about personal details is to get excessively prickly!)

Alternatively: Sipara trying to make friends. Who wants to be spontaneously kidnapped by the awkward nerd who thinks action movies are a guide to making friends?

The general range of abilities, and the wide-spread acceptance of the fact everyone’s learning? Like, bad fantroll blogs seem rarer than they used to be, and it’s always pretty awesome to go through the open tag and see kids getting replies and attention along with older players.

He skates very near the line and it’s possible he’s stepped over once or twice. A lot of the places he goes aren’t strictly legal for him to be in, a lot of the books he owns are banned, a lot of the artifacts he collects are contraband. He justifies this with extreme loophole abuse, and spends a good chunk of his time is spent researching Alternian law to make sure he’s got it right. For example, a lot of pre-Imperial artifacts are actually legal for tealbloods to own, but not to sell? That’s no problem! Widsth doesn’t sell them, just give them as gifts. This recently excavated city is off-limits? Well, the sign wasn’t posted in a prominent position, how was he to know?

He’s completely sincere about it, too: one hundred percent convinced that this is totally legal and honorable.  And if anyone calls him out, he launches into a long monologue about how no, he’s in the clear, really, here’s this detailed review of the law that proves why until they get fed up and decide it’s not worth it.
