regarding self ID…sorry but why would you WANT anyone to go through years of discrimination and be forced to get certain surgeries (that carry risk like any surgery and may not be right for that person) just to be considered valid?

No man has ever had to self identify as trans to go into a restroom and assault somone

Don't 100% remember what this ask was talking about but...

It previously wasn't considered socially acceptable for a male (who hadn't done anything medical to transition) to go into women's bathrooms. Now, a lot of places have a culture of "do you think that person doesn't belong in your bathroom? Mind your own business" & it's a lot more socially acceptable for any old male who isn't even transgender to enter women's bathrooms, because you're not supposed to question who's in the bathroom. How can you tell the difference between a genuine non-passing trans woman who's just in there because of a need to pee and a cis man who's in there because he's a voyeur?

Also like... if you don't want to get medical transition and surgeries, just don't? Nobody is forcing you. I am fine with people dressing however they want regardless of anything about their body, as long as it covers up the important bits. Rad-aligned people in fact typically don't agree with people getting cosmetic surgery unless it's to do something like fix chemical burn scars that are causing severe issues. But if you don't do anything to even attempt to get secondary sex characteristics resembling your desired sex, nobody outside of very specific circles is going to accept you as equivalent to a member of that sex. It's probably difficult to hear, but it's true.

so random but I feel like I remember you saying the same thing during the Bathroom Discourse and i need to get this off my chest. It gets me so annoyed when people say there’s only one bathroom in the macden apartment because how does that make sense 😭 what 2-bedroom apartment have you ever been to that only has one bathroom only accessible through one of the bedrooms

You remember right I did say basically that lol. I was then informed that apparently some old apartments were designed that way so it’s possible their building is just very old. That being said, I’ve never been to an apartment that was designed that way and I still find the idea of the only bathroom being accessible only through one of the bedrooms weird. Maybe the only shower, but not the only toilet.

And I still think they said they had to have at least two bathrooms in Suburbs because that’s what they’re used to, and they’re not just dreaming big, because they were talking about it in context of what they lost when they lost their old apartment. But that interpretation is subjective.

I know I will get hate for this but I still agree it makes more sense for them to have two bathrooms

I am in the process of designing our own home with my SO and this whole “own bathroom” thing makes me want to redo our whole concept. (We are honestly too late in the process, we can’t move walls anymore as we’re in permitting.) We have a 2nd bathroom in the current plans as an office/guest bathroom but now I want “my bathroom” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interestingly the attacker uses a lot of TERFy phrases - “keep your nasty dick away” and “go to the bathroom your ID says to” - which is hilarious as they’re talking to a DFAB non binary person, who was using the correct bathroom by their system but just didn’t “look right”.
