Anyone remember the classic issue of Batman and Robin (2001) where Cass and Tim fend off bane in that amazing car chase? Burning pavement and dodging shrapnel in the redbird? Such a fun issue, sets up the following arc as well. You can’t call yourself a real fan of Cass if you haven’t read her batman run, same with Tim as robin—such an iconic period for batman tbh. They’re the best canon batman and robin pair outside of Bruce and Tim, bar none

DC First: Batgirl/Joker #1

And of course Tim is a talented detective in his own right, and a bright kid, but seeing him struggle whether it be training with shiva or bruce or clyde. I like that, I think Tim is great when you see the flaws that make him brush up naively or out-of-his-depth, to an extent. The mini series were good at showing this, warts and dixon-isms aside, I immensely enjoy the story they tell

Cass takes the proactive approach for keeping her friends out of trouble. What a way to say “Skill Issue”

WILD how knightfall happened during Tim's first year as robin, and summer vacation. I can't think of a worst time to be robin.

I also find it fascinating how bruce’s relationship with his protégés was framed as mentor-student first; as tim and steph both had families and living parents, in the context of him looking after them in these contexts
