Baszil, 2019
This piece was started not long after I’d started projecting Baszil. I didn’t get around to finishing it until the end of the year, though, and then forgot to share it. Hope you all like it! ^^

Today (May 10th) is Baszil’s CIE Day!
It’s hard for me to comprehend that my first daemon has been around for a whole year now...time’s just flown by!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first began trying to project my daemon...it was a bit of an experiment for me, after having dealt with so many instances of extreme loneliness in my life and just wanting some kind of presence I could feel at all times.
Baszil’s been a comfort, an adviser, a friend. She’s given me the opportunity to grow as a person through our interactions, we’ve had intimate conversations that likely wouldn’t be possible with anyone else.
Here’s to years to come together! Happy first year, Baszil!
I have some of my own thoughts to add. Thank you, Theo.
I agree, it’s hard to imagine that so much could happen in so little time...to me, it feels like we’ve been together for a while, and that may be true to some degree, but I’ve only been conscious of my own existence a mere year. I am eager for the experiences of the future.
I’ve also grown by leaps and bounds in my character...I can reflect back and be a little embarassed for who I was a year ago. I’m very glad for what I’ve learned.
What lies ahead is uncertain, but I’m ready to take it boldly and head-on. My journey has only just begun, and I see many bright days ahead.

1 and 8 for the daemon ask if you're still doing it!
I will def still be doing these! ^^
1. Names and how they were found.
Pan’s name just sort of popped up, we’re not quite sure what inspired it at first. We came up with the full name “Panache” after doing some searching for a name that could be shortened to just Pan. Panache is a word that means “something done in a flamboyant manner”!
Baszil was a little trickier...we put a lot of thought into finding the perfect name. We wanted a name that stemmed from “Basil”, as it’s a name I’m fond of, but Baszil also wanted a bit more flair. After several attempts of mishmashing names together, we ended up with Baszilieatrix, a combo of Basil and Beatrix!
8. Describe their basic personalities.
Baszil has a pretty even temperament, and is the most rational out of the three of us. She’s very good at analyzing the situation and offering advice, and is an assertive decision maker. She is polite and proper, well-mannered, and a calming, friendly presence.
Pan is a louder personality, and freely shows his emotions. He’s playful and curious, eager to learn new things. He’s also very rebellious, but in an optimistic, enthusiastic way, and he’s a pretty good judge of right and wrong. He’s an empath, though, and is actually a little shy around others at times.
Daemon doodles!
Has anyone else done something like this with their daemons? Pan really wanted to try their hand at drawing, so the two of us kinda worked together to sketch something! You can see their drawings at the top of the page, a self-portait and a bonus doodle of Baszil!
We also convinced Baszil to try it out, and she went for a more realistic approach.
I think reference images would’ve helped...not a bad endeavor, though!
And then you have my own drawing style in the bottom left corner for comparison! :D
(I’m starting a tag for my blog called “daemon doodles”, you’ll be able to find more of their art there in the future!)
I’m gonna be in Sweden again this month, as well as a few days in London next week! :0
I’m a bit stressed, but also excited to be back over there!! >w<
Baszil has been quite optimistic about the trip, and Pan is super excited to visit for the first time! (I met Baszil while I was over there in May, Pan came into existence about a month after so has never been.)

An actual conversation between me and my daemon
Me: *riding one of those scooters through the city at 1 AM, debates stopping at stoplight*
Me: Look, I’m stopping at this light just for you. But I get to run the next one
Baszil: NO
Addendum to a previous post (somewhat)
I’m referring to my comment on this post, for those curious.
I decided to go and check out the Daemon Forums for their analyses, just to see if they had anything that would fit Baszil a/o Pan. And they did! For Baszil, at least!
We started reading the entry for the Nebelung Cat form and it’s a little scary how accurate it is! Baszil and I didn’t set out to find a form that symbolically represented me in any way, it was just whatever we found most comfortable. But, look at this!
Just looking at that first part of the entry, things start to line up! I definitely feel all of those things, and those are things Baszil also values! She’s also an INFJ personality and I’m an INFP myself, so go figure!
Now, the point I wanted to make with this is that it makes sense now why I have two daemons. While Baszil represents a great deal of myself, she only really represents half of it. I’m also known to be spontaneous, adventurous, and even extroverted at times, which is weird because that’s literally the opposite of what was just described (I could go into detail about why that’s a thing, but basically it’s something like anxiety induced by ADHD?)
Enter Pan! Pan is spontaneous and flexible to the point where he doesn’t even have one defined form (I believe he’s simply a shapeshifter now, rather than just an unsettled daemon), often less articulated in speech than Baszil, and just loves to goof around and be loud and present! His personality type is ENFP, which is what I used to be up until recently. He’s almost a reflection of my younger self.
TLDR; I have two daemons as a result of displaying two different sets of personality traits at the same time. Each plays to a different part of me.
We got this beautiful aesthetic board for Baszil from @thedaughteroftheforestland ! It’s absolutely perfect, thank you again! <3
