Basic Relationships
(These are my headcanons only and are flexible. I donāt āpuppetā in rps and are open to alternate interpretations)
David Oh/Major Zero: The way the Cobras are āSons of Boss,ā Jenya is Zeroās shadow. She completes over forty years of work for him and all his projects, and owes her entire career to him. Jenya has internalized the colonization of her country and thinks herself inferior to the British, for this she overcompensates by being as British as possible. Sheās often parroting phrases of the SAS, projecting his Double 007 mannerisms, and basically worships anything that is David Oh. She desperately cares for him and cares about his opinion so she tends to keep him unaware of her more controversial stances. Beyond the mentor adoration, Calm and Zero have an amicable relationship where they can always have tea and chat the day away. Jack/Naked Snake: Jenya simultaneously dislikes and respects Jack. He was raised and trained by The Boss and is exceptionally skilled. He is also the agent under the orders of the CIA and Zero, which are her strongest loyalties. However, Jenya was conflicted about the goal of his mission and didnāt trust the details entirely. So Jenya secretly tries to obstruct his mission, from planting poisonous animals to unleashing research crocodiles, Jenya tries her best to make life harder for him. When he does become Big Boss and splits from Major Zero he becomes an enemy. The Boss/The Joy: Jenya initially respects Joy and follows her commands to a T because she is sent under orders of David Oh and Jenya knew they were good friends. However, Jenya does not approve of Joy dressing as a man and engaging in combat, or even running a unit. Jenya has a strict adherence to gender roles (or so she thinks) and is perturbed by Joyās domineering attitude. Unlike other authority figures in the past, she will never directly challenge Joy, but does not bite her tongue when making backhanded compliments, passive aggressive statements, or sighing obnoxiously. Just, put on a skirt and learn how to boil some food decently, itās not too much to ask, is it? The Pain: Jenya has a soft spot for anyone who has applied her science and survived. They are a returning test subject and this tickles her pink. Calm likes to often experiment and fine tune Painās parasites, making tweaks to make his hornets respond more accurately to his commands. Usually Painās loud, brash, and overtly jovial type would put off quiet Jenya, but she takes it into stride for his case as a pet subject. She also is pedantic and will immediately correct anyone who refers to his hornets as ābees.ā The End: Like Pain, Jenya enjoys spending time with End to develop his autotrophic patches. Jenya however, enjoys Endās company independent of her research because heās placid, well-educated, and not as wacky as others she typically works with. Theyāre also both vegetarian, which is not exactly an accident because as a devout Hindu, Jenya was developing the autotrophic implants to curtail the need to consume meat. However, Jenya does not censor herself with End as she does with the Major, and therefore tends to put him off (or he āfalls asleepā) to tune out her more bad takes. The Sorrow: Jenya is pretty neutral towards Sorrow, other than being overtly critical of his quiet and meek attitude. Jenya admires his intelligence and diplomatic tendencies, but again due to her belief in gender roles, finds Sorrow too effeminate and weak. Jenya does not encourage weakness in men and tries to push him to be more assertive. However, because heās more level headed, she also is willing to protect him from more violent bullying and general misery. The Fear:Ā Canāt bloody stand this git! Fear embodies almost everything Jenya hates in a person. He is not cultured, he is not refined, and he certainly is no gentleman. Jenya does not hesitate being extra mean when slipping laxatives into his coffee or pretending not to find the vein when drawing blood. Jenya is extremely patronizing and condescending to Fear, challenging his every move as suspect and fallible. Fear (in my headcanon) does not hold back returning the favor in spades, putting spiders in her bed or stringing her from a tree. However, there is a palatable tension here, and Fear is not scared to call her out. If there is something special about Fear, it is that he exposes her hypocrisies into the open. The Fury: She thinks heās highly volatile and dangerous. Sheās constantly trying to slip sedatives and test psychiatric agents on him. But she often will come up and pluck the cigarettes he smokes out, launching into health lectures. Fury is similar to Fear who doesnāt take kindly to Jenyaās open distaste and serves back the antagonism in kind.Ā The Fury often refers to Jenya as a Nazi, not only for her fascistic abeyance of rules, but also because of her bigoted views. He believes that sheās an insane, unhinged scientist and that the power granted fell into the wrong hands, heās more paranoid to her motives and doesnāt trust her at all. He suspects her to switch loyalties at any second.
