Hello! My name is Barbara *LUMIÈRE* Ping and I'm a proud sister of alpha Kappa Delta Phi since Fall 2013. Here is my akdphi story: Before coming into Baruch, I heard countless stories, all Greek organizations just party, they don't do well in school, and etc, but after meeting all the sisters, I find that it isn't how it seems from afar. I wanted to attend an aKDPhi event just so I can say I tried and gave it a chance. The event that really got me was the General Interest Meeting. It gave me the opportunity to listen to the sister's stories and tell us how they benefitted from aKDPhi. When they were sharing their own personal stories, I saw how genuine they all were about aKDPhi. Listening to them gave me tingles! They all seemed so close and that's what I wanted, to be with a group of girls that I can proudly say I want to make life long relationships with. But another person that made me come out was my big sis (at that time I didn't know she would be my big sis). Ever since the first day of coming to school, she got my number and we talked so much. We talked day and night and she really made me feel comfortable. She always asked to hang out and we just connected ever since day one. I felt like I was a younger version of her and that she could guide me through whatever problems I was having. In the end, I ultimately chose aKDPhi because of the people. Sometimes you can't explain it; you just feel it. When that connection clicked, I knew that I wanted to join this sisterhood. With love & friendship, Barbara *LUMIÈRE* Ping
