This Illanoiz vs Hemi Is No Joke
The Bronx was lit up a few weeks ago when Hemi representing New Orleans came all the way up here to battle our very own Illanoiz hailing from Brooklyn. As Hemi started the festivities off I thought for sure we were going to see an exciting and debatable battle but that wasn’t the case when you look at the third round. Before we get to that lets recap the first two rounds. Like I said in the first round Hemi definitely brought it his A game with a lot of punch lines that were hard hitting and quite clever. Illa fired back with his own arsenal of punchlines that immediately grabbed the crowd. His infamous wordplay usage was A1 that night making it hard for Hemi to get the job done. You see proof of this when he began his second round and stumbled a few times in the beginning. He quickly gained his composure and was able finish off strong making it once again a hard debate for the most part. Illa’s round two kinda sealed the deal as he went off with even more intensity and wit.The Sesame Street scheme (yes you read right, he used Sesame Street in his verse) was a prime example of preparation and skill. The third round like I said earlier was what sealed it all for this battle because Hemi didn’t come prepared with a third verse. Now I’m not sure if he didn’t feel he needed one against Illa or just plain forgot it but it made it very easy to decide who took this one. Illa not only comes prepared with his third round verse but he also goes off the top of the head just like Hemi…and does a better job at it. Watch the entire battle and let us know what you think.
