Ten days before A Court of Silver Flames, Nesta finds herself dancing with strangers, embroidering curtains for a widow, and drinking just enough to pretend it doesn’t mean anything. But the troupe keeps pulling her in—songs, street plays, laughter and good company.

And one of them? As the bard says: “Journeys end in lovers meeting.” Even if some journeys aren’t meant to last.
