Be Prepared for more douchey shirtless selfies. I am competing in my first bodybuilding competition and this is why: For years I felt like my body betrayed me.Β I felt like it was working against me, and no matter how hard I worked out.. or starved myself.. when I looked in the mirror I was never happy because the person I felt on the inside couldnβt be seen on the outside. Finally my body seems to be working with me instead of against me. I feel like getting up on stage is like re-birth of sorts because never in my life would I have thought I would feel comfortable enough in my body. I am finally feeling comfortable in my body and I want to celebrate it.Β Fitness is also something I have done and used to cope with anxiety for as long as I can remember. I go to the gym everyday because it helps me cope with my anxiety. It isnβt all just about looks.Β There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to fitness. People only see the end result and think that is what everyone needs to celebrate when what really needs to be celebrated is the process. There is something that is incredibly gratifying about putting in a lot of hard work and effort into something and seeing results.Β When I think of bodybuilders I donβt just see muscle or a good looking body. I see dedication, and someone who went after what they wanted. I think you can apply that to so many areas of your life. Go after what you want. It doesnβt matter if it is bodybuilding, music, art, or Pokemon Go. Put fear aside, put in the work, and go after what you want! #ftm #fitness #bodybuilding #nutrition #life #trans #transgender #barbellsandftms #ftmfitness #ftmfitcon
