This stunning antique French bed, dating to the 1860s, was crafted in the Louis XVI style and features hand-embroidered Chinese silk panels. It gained cinematic fame as Scarlett OโHaraโs bed after her marriage to Rhett Butler in ๐ฎ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ . ย The bed went up for auction at Julienโs in 2019, fetching $51,200. According to the previous owner, it had been loaned to David O. Selznick for ๐ฎ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ by a prominent Southern California family and later returned. ย However, the bed appears to have briefly returned to MGMโs prop department before making its way back to said family. It was used once more in the 1940 film ๐จ๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ป๐๐, where it appeared in the bedroom of the Duchesse de Praslinโplayed by Barbara OโNeil, who had portrayed Scarlettโs mother just the year before. ย Want to see more reused pieces?
