@fuzipenguin and especially @balloonarcade, I've now made a Sideswipe and Sunstreaker playlist because of you both, and this song especially sings to them in my opinion. Depending what line you look at in the song it goes to one or the other twin. Anyways! Curse and bless you both!

They called it the “next generation of jaegers.” There was noneed to find drift-compatible pilots because no pilots were necessary. Thejaegers could operate with faster reflexes in combat than human-pilotedjaegers. And the AI had been developed using the neural patterns of dozens ofjaeger pilots, pooling their combat techniques into a machine that could fightthe kaiju on its own.

Standing on one of the service catwalks in Shatterdome 3, Sywatched as the new jaeger was trucked in and slowly levered into an uprightposition in one of the maintenance stations. Impressive didn’t feel like a bigenough word to describe the machine in front of him.

Next to him, one of the other engineers leaned on therailing. “It looks awfully fierce, I’ll give it that,” Jack said. “But pilotitself? I read the specs, but I’ll believe that when I see it.”

“The test runs in Tokyo were spotless,” Sy replied, notmoving his eyes from the new jaeger as it rose from the tractor bed. His gazeroamed over its sleek black and yellow lines, already noting areas that he wassure were going to need special maintenance. He’d especially have to mentionthe hip bushings to the crew chief. The more advanced the tech, the more upkeepit needed, after all. “But yeah, I want to see what this thing will do upagainst an actual kaiju.”

Jack grinned at Sy. “I’ll bet you can’t wait to get yourmitts on its systems. Did they even send you the source code to look at?”

Sy shook his head. “Not yet. Tomorrow I’ll get my firstchance to get in there and see what kind of monster they’ve created for me towork with.”

“Good luck with that,” Jack said, slapping Sy on theshoulder.

“Thanks,” Sy said, not turning his head as Jack walked off.He waited until the monitor screen next to the new jaeger finishedinitializing, indicating that all systems were green and charging or ready.

@balloonarcade Here you go, one silly art for you– now with hands! No more lobster claws for me unless I am feeling lazy. Which I usually am.

This has to be the biggest/most complicated art I’ve done so far. Honestly, it was terrifying to do… But definitely worth it!

[Question from here, feel free to send me some!] This is a hard question! I’d say I’d have a cluster of faves? My faves will deff flux around and sometimes I just need to mainline one or the other or what have you for a while, but I don’t have a solid one, true favorite.

Seconding. It will NEVER be called to Rogers Center in my mind. Forever the Skydome. <3. Also jealous you got to sleep there.
