Lord Balfour, as the UK foreign secretary signed the Balfour Declaration on November 2nd 1917, which was a public statement issued by the British government which promoted "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people". A reminder about Palestine:
Firstly, the existence of the country of Palestine was never in question. And secondly, as per the UK's own words in the oft-referred to "foundational" "Balfour Declaration":
"NOTHING SHALL BE DONE WHICH MAY PREJUDICE THE CIVIL AND RELIGIOUS RIGHTS OF EXISTING NON-JEWISH COMMUNITIES IN PALESTINE."

Does Israel have the Right to Exist?
This is the wrong question, and every time it is asked it is asked in order to justify the genocidal behaviour of the State of Israel towards Palestine. The real question is this: Did Britain have the right in 1917 to give Palestinian land to white European Jews?
