I’ve, like you said, been violently attacked because of the intolerance people have of my religion, been spat at in the face and chased down the main road by an adult white man when I was only THIRTEEN because of it, had my hijaab pulled off me and then had an entire can of beer thrown at me and soak me because of it. I don’t wanna go into what else I’ve personally been through, because the list is far too long, but I have friends aswell that have had stuff happen to them aswell. And this is something I live in fear of happening to me on a daily basis. And people have asked me about my experiences of Islamophobia in the past and I talk to them about it.
We should be a progressive society who pushes acceptance and tolerance forwards, not be going 10 steps back.
