  A tonality of contemplativeness---wistfulness was  l a c e d  within his breathy voice, wholly cognizant of the fact that the presence adjacent from whence he sat was unwilling to commence any sort of [ conversation ] with him, but this did not deter him. He needed someone to confide in, someone who would listen & it mattered naught for ❛twas a [ means ] for him to find a halcyon state of mind.
