Women in Mahabharata - Woman in Bahika

She was a brahmin woman from Bahika, who was kidnapped and assaulted by local dacoits when she was a teenager. She had then cursed all the people of Bahika, allowing the Bahika women to marry multiple men [not really a curse, but I can respect her anger].
As a result of her curse, wherever the Bahikas lived [Madra, Gandhar, etc], the property was now passed from the maternal uncle to the nephew, instead of from father to son, as is the usual way for most of the other regions of the subcontinent.
This style of inheritance is still seen in some parts of the world.
