So here's a stupid question.. I've seen plenty of Bagginshield posts referring to "the night in Laketown". Is that fanon or canon? Either way, I'd like to be in on it ;)
itâs not a stupid question, anon! âthe night in laketownâ refers to the gap in the movies between thorin and co. being accepted as guests by the master and them leaving the next morning.Â
that anything actually happened between thorin and bilbo that night isnât canon per se, but letâs look at the facts:
there was clearly alcohol involved that night, see: bofur waking up drunk
before the gap, bilbo had just vouched for thorinâŚ
âŚand thorin had looked at him with Extreme Heart Eyesâ˘
it was possibly their last night on earth and therefore time to make the most of things
it was bilboâs birthday (iâm not saying birthday sex butâŚ)
when we see them the next morning, bilbo and thorin are wearing matching red cloaks
and bilboâs is described as âtrailing behind him like a wedding trainâ
bilbo then sits in the place of honour (behind thorin) in the boat
bilbo and thorin are in love
so yeah draw your own conclusions, you know, i just report the facts
TL;DR Bilbo and Thorin probably made sweet sweet love in Laketown bye
