After taking Rhaenyra's youngest son, Prince Viserys, as a hostage following the Battle of the Gullet, Alicent Hightower sues for peace with an offer to divide the realm into two parts. For the sake of her youngest son, Rhaenyra accepts, becoming Queen of the Eastern Kingdom, while Aegon becomes King of the Western Kingdom, with Baela Targaryen as his new bride.

Of course OFCIR is still a priority, but with AKAB on indefinite hiatus (sadly, it needs a rewrite), I wanted to put something else out there. In the meantime I learned how to backlog before publishing, so there's plenty of material for this one. I have affectionately called it "half-Dance" since that's really what it is, which I guess makes it a bit of an AKAB (no-Dance) and OFCIR (post-Dance) hybrid.

CHAPTER XIII OF OUR FATHERS CLAD IN RED BY ME AND @gwenllian-in-the-abbey IS OUT!

Rhaemond, my favorite among all, this one was discovered thanks to the tiktok algorithm and without a doubt grateful for that

Baelon came along while I was reading a Rhaemond fanfic and in it they paired Aegon and Baela and I certainly liked it, I think Baela and Aegon would have been chaotic together

Daensa I discovered this chip by being curious and I loved it with all my soul, there are many fanfics there but I hope over time they write more

Oh yeah, you can tell he thinks that some of the stuff they’ve written up for his character is absolutely ridiculous(looking at you Sara Hess once again who said Aegon is still likable even though he’s a rapist🙃).

Anyway, I’ll be honest and say I was way too focused on the glance between Rhaemond at the dinner table to notice Baegon, but I see it now 🙌🏽

The potential is delicious. Like there’ll be lots of fighting because they both have a lot of energy, but I think that they’d weirdly get each other. They are protectors at heart(see how Aegon had Aemond’s back during that scene and in the deleted scene how Baela wanted to fight with and for her family). They are the oldest siblings and the wild child. They can match each other crazy and keep each other on their toes.

IMO this crackship is one of the few ones that can work before and after the Dance.

Love the Aegon seeing Jace and saying I’m better than him and swooping in because of course a bastard shouldn’t have Baela Targaryen(he's telling himself the entire time that she's annoying and too wild, ironic yes, but something keeps pulling him to her) 🙌🏽

Now I raise you Aegon and Baela hating each other for their respective parts in the war but they slowly start to fall for each other because they see how the other cares for their remaining family members❤️‍🔥

There are just so many possibilities. This pairing is everything and they should be talked about more🙌🏽
