The fact that it lasted 13 episodes is kind of amazing.
Look I know making a successful TV show is hard, even when you've done it before.
But this is like a fever dream.
It's not even offensively bad. It's just so awkward and uneven and I don't understand any of the choices the director is making, ever.
And that swelling laugh track every single time there is an 80s reference. It's dystopian. Like a Tim & Eric sketch with no denouement.
The cast is good? I think? It's not their fault.
Tinsley Grimes is doing something here. I don't know what but at least it's oddly compelling. She quit acting and is a psychiatrist now. Good on her.
Glenn Howerton is good, but he's obviously a little too twitchy and manic to be the hot cool lead guy, even with his looks. Always Sunny understands this and that's why Dennis works in that show. Fun to see the strains of that here.
...No I don't know why the pilot has a lesbian subplot. That feels like some rejected Friends subplot someone just recycled into this, because they figured it wouldn't matter. And it doesn't.
