I am a proud Mexican. I've living all of my life here and I love my country and my culture.
But being modified in Mexico it's extremely hard. Or at least where I live.
You always get "surgical steel". Finding a titanium or any other GOOD material it's really difficult. Most of the time you get really expensive jewerly that claims to be surgical steel when it's a totally different thing that will rust and probably cause you an infection.
Now I will tell you my piercing story. My whole piercing story.
I goy my helix pierced when I was 12. I had the permission of an adult, of course. I went with my dad and two of my cousins to a sketchy looking place in the middle of a shopping mall. It wasn't even a shop, it was like a wooden box in the middle of the mall. I told him what i want and & choose my jewelry. Then I got inside the box. It was hot and really messy. My cousins went in with me. So there we are, four people in a 2x2 hot messy wood room in the middle of the mall. The guy had everything dessinfected, used gloves and a new needle. It didn't hurt, it didn't bleed and I have no problems with my helix after 6 years.
The, when I was 13 almost 14 I convinced my parents to let me pierce my second holes. We went to ANOTHER shopping mall, to a store that had "2x1" piercings. It was a clothing store and in the 2nd floor they did tattoos and piercings. And OMG THE JEWELRY! It was just awful, I picked the less horrible ones and I went alone to the second floor with the guy, the place was really clean, he did it with a new needle and I had no problem with my second holes.
Years passed and I wanted MORE. And this is where my "no permission piercings" story start. I think it was somedays after my 16 birthday. I went to the mall with some of my friends. It was a really funny day. And then I've got a GENIUS idea. I wanted my industrial pierced but my mom said "NO". My genius idea was; getting it pierced without permission. We went to a little shop in the mall that was "SUPER COOL" they sold piercings, music related shirts, skateboards and that kind of "cool" stuff. They did the piercings and tattos in the second floor. Now, this guys have a different piercing/tattoo artist almost EVERY week. And after I got it I heard a lot of stories of infected piercings that where made there. But I didn't know or car about it. I aldredy had the jewelry, I went in and got it pierced. This was the first time when they told me I had to use sea salt to clean it. I went hom, I got in trouble, of course and after a month or so I realised a little bump in one of the holes. I pressed it and puss came out. I had this problem for like 2 months. Then th bump stopped growing again and now it's healed.
After that, time passed and I really really wanted my septum pierced. I wanted it SO BAD! I was still 16 and was shooting something for school with my friends when I told them "I want to get my septum pierced!" And they were all like "FUCK YEAH!". So, we went to the same store where I pierced my industrial 'cause I'm and idiot. I was afraid, I didn't know if it would hurt, so I paid for my friend getting her nostril done. We ALL went in th second floor. I was the first one. I sat on a chair and the guy gust put the clamps on my nose and put the needle through. I screamed a little and shed a tear. He quickly put the jewelry and that was it. I looked in to the mirror. IT WAS WAY TO LOW AND IT WAS CROKED. But at the time I was like "OMG I AM SO FUCKING COOL" My friend got her nostril and we just walked of the store, feeling cool as fuck. Days later my friend told me that the piercing was getting off her nose. It was weird and that same day she got it of. It was SUPER irritated and the hole close in seconds. She was alergic to the "Surgical steel". Mine was fine, like 2 weeks or so later we went to a bar and it bleed a little. After a month my mom noticed it and my sister convinced me to get it off. months passed and the day of my 17th birthday I was plannind to get a tattoo but I didn't have the guts, so I went with my friends to this piercing shop to get my septum re-pierced. We went to a shop were I was stretching my ears. It wasn't in a mall, they had LOTS of jewelry and the guys were really professional. So I went in with a friend, the guy cleaned the place where I sat, he put on gloves and marked the space, then he asked me to get up, he cleaned it again and asked me to lay down, I did and he changed his gloves again before piercing it. I hurt like a bitch but it was PERFECT. It was on th perfect spot in my nose, I was SO HAPPY!.
Now I'm finally 18. I can legally do what I want with my body and I will.
My point here is...I got piercings while I was underage. THEY NEVER ASK YOUR AGE WHEN YOU ENTER A SHOP! It could be the sketchiest store ever or the most clean and awesome tattoo and piercing studio, it doesn't matter. If you don't have baby face they will pierce and/or tattoo whatever you want. This may sound cool for some people but it's not. We have little or no tattoo/piercing regulations. You don't sign anything when you get pierced/tattoed.
So, Mexican politicians. You awful, awful human beings. Stop trying to give a medal to a fucking football team that won the whatever league, and yes, a politician asked for a medal and a statue for them, AND START MAKING SOME PIERCING/TATTOO LAWS!
