August 06: Popular/Married Life

“Because I don’t want to.”

Luka pursed his lips as Penny continued to lecture him on the other end. His eyes darted out to the balcony, where he had left the pick necklace when Marinette had started lingering by the doors a bit more earlier that evening.  She was currently sitting on the rail – where she had been for at least an hour now – watching the moon.  He had set a few deck chairs out there, but she usually ignored them in favor of sitting on the rail.  He wondered if  that was a hangover from a Ladybug thing.

“I don’t care if he asked for me personally,” Luka said, reaching up and rubbing his temple.  “My answer is no.”

Penny said something else that made his stomach churn.

“Because I don’t like him!” he snapped.  Penny’s irritated, huffed why gave him pause.
